21 Dec What I’m Loving Right Now…
It’s been great to have a break from writing everyday. My schedule has lightened up some now that the girls are out of school. I’ve been soaking up inspiration in various forms and thought it would be fun to share them with you.
It’s been cold and rainy for the last couple of days. I’ve been holed up at home with my tea and favorite blanket reading books, blogs and magazines. I LOVE my hermit time. I’m filling up with creative inspiration, new ideas and taking some time to daydream before I jump into planning what I want for the New Year. I feel this surge of joy and positive anticipation like some big exciting things are on the horizon. As we move closer to the end of the year I will be posting resources for you to get inspired and to dream big for 2015.
In the mean time here is what I’m loving right now:
This incredible book, The Alchemist.
“When you want something, all the universe conspires to help you to achieve it.” I pretty much underlined the whole book. Great stuff!!! Alchemy is my word for 2015.
Where to begin! The luscious glossy paper, exquisite fashion photography and smart, relevant articles. I literally watch the calendar for when the next issue hits news stands.
And lastly, this blog:
I am obsessed with this blog right now. I first saw Jillian’s photography and writing in Artful Blogging in the Summer 2014 issue. I wasn’t familiar with The Noisy Plume then. I just knew I was completely drawn to her images. In fact before I knew it I had cut all of them out for a collage I was working on. I cut out some stunning images from the first Bella Grace issue this fall not knowing it was the same artist/writer. It was when I started cutting out images from the new Bella Grace that I finally put it together that all of these pictures I was so moved by were by the same person. I went straight to her blog and it took my breath away.
I think it is the beauty and the purity of the pictures I love so much. They are raw and candid. They have an almost photojournalism type feel to them and the life they document is perhaps what is most appealing of all. It is wild, raw and authentic. I can’t explain why but that life resonates somewhere deep in my soul. Maybe it’s because it is so different from the life I’m living right now. I love the south and I love my life but I can’t take my eyes or my mind off of the Idaho wilderness right now. This article articulates it better than I can. It also made me feel like I wasn’t crazy for being completely consumed by the beauty and style of this blog. Do yourself a favor and check it out.
So that’s what I’ve been up to. This is why my Christmas cards are late. I just can’t tear myself away. But I am oh so happy and so full of joy.
